Dr. B.C. Roy National Award

Medical Council of India instituted Dr. B.C. Roy Award in 1976 in memory of Bharat Ratna Dr.B.C.Roy. Dr.N.Sethuraman, Founder Chairman of Meenakshi Mission Hospital & Research Centre was awarded with this prestigious award by the President of India for Medico Social Relief in the Year 1998.

Golden Peacock National Quality Award

Meenakshi Mission Hospital & Research centre has received Golden Peacock Award for Quality in the year 1999.

Performance Excellence Award- 2008

Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre, Madurai, became the first Hospital in South India to bag the prestigious IMC Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality Performance Excellence Award in the Healthcare category for the year 2008. The award is considered to be the Indian version of the Malcom Baldrige Award, USA.

Healthy Workplace Gold Level Award

Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre's wide ranging wellness efforts have resulted in improving employee referral, reduction in sick time / sick-leave and increased retention.Arogya world a global not for profit trust, in association with Clinton Global Initiative (CG), USA & public health foundation of India has pledged to get 100 companies in India to be recognized as healthy places by 2016, thus helping over one million employees lead healthy lives. The healthy workplace gold level award has multiple criteria that includes, Tobacco Policy, Healthy Eating, Physical Activity, Work Life Balance, Shifting Mindsets and many more innovative development programs that aim at a shift in work culture paradigms. To promote this concept, the National Level Healthy Workplace Award was instituted in 2012.

Counsel for Fair Business Practises Award

Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre, Madurai, was the winner of the Counsel for Fair Business Practices Award, which was given away by Mr. Adi Godrej, in Mumbai. The award was conferred to felicitate the hospital’s fair business practices.

Social Responsibility Initiative of the year 2007

The successful journey of MMHRC all through the years of service, symbolizes the excellence in medical care and clinical research, as well as our commitment to serve the poor and needy through our innumerable charity services. We were honoured at the recognition of this initiative of ours, when MMHRC was awarded the Modern Medicare Award for “Social Responsibility Initiative of the year 2007” from GE, for its comprehensive work in extending its exceptional service to the People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHAs).

India Builds

"Habitat for Humanity International" launched a new programme to eradicate poverty of housing in India, by building affordable and safe houses. MMHRC has been included in this programme to build 1000 houses for the members of Mahasemam in another five years. MMHRC was awarded by this programme, for its commitment towards eradicating poverty of housing in India. Honorable Mr. Kapil Sibal, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India honoured MMHRC for its valuable humanitarian services.

Smile Stone 5000

The Regional Smile Train Centre at Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre, Madurai, was felicitated on 19th May 2010 by the Former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. The certificate was given to honour the service of our Medical team, in achieving the feat of having completed 5000 corrective surgeries.

Best Public Service Award 2010

The Lions Club International awarded Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre, Madurai, the Best Public Service Award for the year 2010, in recognition of our efforts towards the community.

The Smile Train, USA

The good work done at the Smile Train centre for Cleft lip/palate at MMHRC has been well appreciated by The Smile Train-USA for mobilizing persons living with cleft lip/palate and providing more than 2000 quality corrective surgeries. Dr. S. Gurushankar, Vice Chairman was received at The Smile Train Central Office, New York, hosted at lunch and awarded a citation.

Reward for DRI Services

In recognition for the timely medical services rendered to the people of Tamilnadu, the Tamilnadu Social Welfare Board and Direct Relief International, USA (DRI) appreciated the services of MMHRC. His Excellency, Shri Surjith Singh Barnala, Governor of Tamilnadu honored Mrs. Susan Fowler, Senior Programme Officer and her team-mates from MMHRC, with a citation at the Raj Bhavan, Chennai.

Credibility Alliance Certification

A consortium of voluntary organizations, "Credibility Alliance" conferred Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research centre with accreditation for Good Governance of Voluntary Organizations. The hospital is one among the 27 NGO's in India to receive this honour.

State of Illinois, USA

In recognition of the humanitarian services rendered by MMHRC in treating the injuries and illnesses of the Tsunami victims free of cost, in collaboration with the Direct Relief International-USA, MMHRC was awarded a citation by the representative Susana A. Mendoza, State of Illinois vide House Resolution Number 668, Ninety Four General Assembly, House of Representatives-USA.
