Smoking Kills on an Epidemic Scale. Experts and Doctors Warn, on World No Tobacco Day.

By 2020, if the current trend of smoking and chewing tobacco continues, over 10 million Indians will have died due to diseases caused by tobacco.

Dr. Jebreel Oysul, Senior Consultant, Dental, Meenakshi Mission Hospital, Madurai also warns against chewing tobacco and not just smoking. He says, ‘Some mistakenly believe that chewing tobacco is safer than smoking cigarettes. However, chewing tobacco is more addictive as it contains higher levels of nicotine than cigarettes and can be harder to quit than cigarettes.’
